A Growing Interest...
I have always been interested in gardening and horticulture. As a young
teenager a kept a patch of my parents garden and enjoyed horticulture as a hobby.
Upon leaving school I realised that I wanted to turn my hobby into my profession.
Becoming A Professional
In order to achieve my ambition of becoming a Professional Horticulturalist I
applied to the Warwickshire College (Royal Leamington
Spa and Moreton Morrell) for a place on their Horticulture programmee.
During my studies I was fortunate enough to be within a team of students
helping to prepare show gardens for the BBC's Gardeners World Program.
Becoming A Professional (cont...)
That year
our college won both Gold and Silver awards due to our efforts. This experience
was invaluable and a defining moment in my development, I am working towards
having my own display garden at Gardeners World in 2008.
Post Graduation
After leaving college I was employed by a local landscape gardener and began
learning the trade and gaining practical experience in the field. After several
years of on-site training and continued academic study I felt that I was ready
to start my own business and build upon my previous successes.
